First given the name, Silver Shadow H.J. Mulliner Park Ward Drophead Coupé, the car became known as the Corniche in 1971. Only ever produced in limited quantities and at great cost, the Corniche was one of Rolls-Royces most expensive models throughout its production run. Following the release of the Silver Spirit/Spur in 1980, they elected to update the Corniche (as the Corniche II) in 1986 with the new cars suspension and interior rather than re-engineer a convertible of the new design. Further updates in 1990 (as the Corniche III) and 1992 (the Corniche IV) corresponded with updates to the sedans. For the Corniche IV, this meant a four-speed automatic and an updated adaptive suspension. Furthermore, the now completly automatic folding soft top's rear window was now glass instead of plastic. As anyone who has experienced a drive in a Corniche, few vehicles can match its effortless luxury and timeless style. The spectacular 1993 Rolls-Royce Corniche IV Convertible featured here is finished in the one-of-one color combination of Artic White over a White Connolly leather interior with Burgundy piping, Wilton wool carpeting, and magnificent Burl Walnut wood trim throughout in addition to a White Everflex power-folding convertible top. This particular example was sold new in September 1993 by Max of Switzerland (the authorized Rolls-Royce dealer in Scottsdale, Arizona) and has been meticulously maintained since new. Today the Corniche IV presents in spectacular condition with only 23,198 miles accrued on the odometer. As one would expect with such a low mileage and well maintained example, this Corniche IV is accompanied with an extensive amount of documentation including its original books, business card from the selling dealer, original tools, recent service invoices, and the original window sticker. This is simply the best example to be found on the market today and we are confident that this documented, low mileage, and routinely serviced motorcar will surely bring many years of enjoyment to its future caretaker. We are especially proud to offer this incredible, low production Corniche IV to the most astute collector, investor, or enthusiast who understands and appreciates the combination of luxury and craftsmanship that can only be found in these classic Rolls-Royces!
