Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is excited to present 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL finished in Artic White over Palomino interior. In 1986, Mercedes-Benz produced its most powerful SL of the decade, the 560SL Roadster. With the new 5.6-liter V-8 engine mated to the 3-speed automatic transmission, top speed was much improved from 110 mph in the 380SL to 130 mph, and the 560SL was quicker from a standstill to 60 mph by about 4 full seconds. The engine has more torque, which improved the SLs dynamics. The 560SL received a new rear suspension and a limited-slip differential to better handle the added torque and power. Mercedes-Benz also added anti-lock disc brakes, leather upholstery, an alarm system, power windows, cruise control, and an airbag. The manual convertible top allows for open-air driving enjoyment at your discretion. Aluminum wheels not only add a touch of modern style but also contribute to the vehicles overall performance. Inside, the car is fitted with an AM/FM radio and a CD player, offering entertainment options for every journey. Many enthusiasts gravitate towards the 560SL as it retains some of the original lines of the pagoda SLs while carrying with it all of the R107s advances. This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is a true testament to the enduring appeal of Mercedes-Benz engineering and design, offering a blend of luxury, performance, and timeless style.
