Seller's Comments
From 1971 through 1987, GMC took Chevrolets platform, which had been being sold since the late 1950, and the El Camino nameplate and pretty much duplicated it. The first and second-generation cars (71-72) and (73-78) were called the Sprint and the third and final generation cars built from 1978 through 1987 was called the Caballero. These vehicles were a cross-over car/truck and what is interesting is that these style vehicles are still being built today in Australia, called Utes. This particular absolute stunning Caballero is better than new and features a couple really cool modifications. First off, is the Tremec 5-speed manual floor shift that has been very nicely executed as well as the year correct bucket seats vs. the factory bench that would have been offered. Second, is the stainless steel full-length true dual exhaust with headers. Third, is the incredible re-paint in a single tone all the way through that shows near perfect. The bed has wood inserts that are extremely well finished and backed with a magnet so they can be removed for cargo or to clean, a very thought out presentation. This Caballero is very well sorted, it starts perfectly, sounds fantastic, shifts perfectly, brakes perfectly, goes down the road very straight and true, has no weird noises, no funky smells, leaks or smoke. The A/C blows ice cold, the radio works, has power windows and locks and is 100% ready to go. This seriously is one of the nicest El Camino/Sprint/Caballeros I have ever seen or driven. This car was owned, cared for and built by a retired engineer. This car needs a second look if you are in the market. let us know if you have any questions or concerns and would like to set up an inspection.
