1985 Chevrolet El Camino SS Chevrolet had offered a factory version of the SS, but it looked just like every other El Camino, so the manufacturer contacted Choo Choo Customs to change that. Choo Choo Customs started with regular El Caminos fitted with rally wheels and sport mirrors and replaced the stock El Camino fascia with a polyurethane nose like the one found on the Monte Carlo SS. Designers slapped decals on the tailgate, doors, and nose and added an emblem to the dash. Chevrolet claims Choo Choo Customs built 5000 examples but, according to El Camino Central, the actual number is closer to half that Choo Choo Custom SS conversion New 350-330 HP Goodwrench V-8 crate engine Rebuilt 4-speed automatic transmission 3.42 ratio differential limited slip 4-wheel disc brake pads and brake lines Cold air conditioning (new compressor) Exhaust headers Newer steering gear, shocks, body mounts, ball joint, and control arm bushings New windshield wiper motor Newer spare tire and wheel Cowl induction hood Tinted glass Power windows Power door locks Power seats Tilt steering Rust free Turn key 4,690 miles since restoration and rebuild*
