All 1982 Corvettes came with fuel injection and overdrive transmissions - and with terrible 'sub-3.0' rear end gears! This Vette was upgraded from 2.78:1 to 3.73:1 rear end gears in order to make more power coming out of the hole. All 1982s have overdrive, so RPMs on the freeway stay reasonable at around 2500. A speedo drive gear correction in the transmission was also done so that the speedo gauge remains accurate. Other work done to the car includes a whole new OEM-style steering setup with a new pump, cylinder, assist unit, and new hoses. Add to that a new aluminum radiator and work on the fuel system. The intake manifold and injectors have been off and re-sealed to prevent intake leaks (which is common on cars where this hasn't been addressed). The mufflers were upgraded to a pair of free-flowing Dynomax Super Turbos and the cat was made to be a bit more 'free-flowing' as well. It sounds awesome! After doing a comprehensive general inspection, the brakes were gone through and most tune-up items were replaced - including the spark plugs, wires, cap, & rotor.
