Seller's Comments

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1979 Jeep CJ-5 for your consideration. This stunning custom Jeep is powered by a new 350ci V8 motor which routes power to all four wheels through an automatic transmission. In the rear is a Ford 9-inch rear gear and in the front is a Dana 30 axle. Also installed is a Flowmaster exhaust that provides an appropriate rumble. This Jeep was restored a few years back and is ready for action! Due to its lifted nature it is easy to see the beautifully painted frame and the good condition of all suspension bits. The exterior is finished in a purple metallic which is accented by the black hood and removable black vinyl doors and roof. This awesome Jeep rides on Weld Racing wheels which are wrapped in 35-inch Mickey Thompson Baja Claw tires. The top is missing some teeth on the zipper and will need some repair in order to be functional. The interior sports waterproof gray seating for four. Also notable is the Permatech bed liner floor, rear auxiliary speakers, Pioneer aftermarket head unit, machined alloy dashboard, AutoMeter Pro-Comp gauges, GT Grant steering wheel, and a B&M center console mounted shifter. The Jeep CJ models are both a series and a range of small, open-bodied off-road vehicles and compact pickup trucks, built and sold by several successive incarnations of the Jeep automobile marque from 1945 to 1986. The 1945 Willys Jeep was the world's first mass-produced civilian four-wheel drive car. The Willys CJ-5 (later the 1964 Jeep CJ-5) was influenced by new corporate owner Kaiser, and the Korean War M38A1 Jeep. It was intended to replace the CJ-3B, but that model continued in production. The CJ-5 repeated this pattern, continuing in production for three decades while three newer models appeared. The CJ-5 has the distinct honor of being a vehicle that was hard to kill off... equaling the longest production run of note. This example starts up, idles smoothly, and drives out well.
