It was in the aftermath of this incident that Colonel Mike Parker, longtime president of the Smoky Mountain Regional PCA (and progenitor of the revived Tennessee Porsche Club from which it was born) acquired this Carrera; he had been besotted with the car after watching it in competition some years before.
