1974 Volkswagen Thing

The VW Thing, also known as the Type 181 is a unique and iconic vehicle produced from 1968 through 1983 but civilian sales for the US ended after 1975 due to stricter safety regulations, its known for its rugged design, open-top configuration, and ability to be converted to various configurations like a dune buggy or camper. This particular unit is what we like to call driver quality and has been used a Northern Michigan cottage car for runs to the grocery store or to go get ice cream. What you see is kind of what you get here. This Thing starts, runs, stops, shifts and goes down the road. There are no power windows, locks, navigation, heated seats etc in other words, not much to go wrong. We welcome and questions or third party inspections. The top and side curtains come with the car, however you can see that the top is in need of some repair. The seats are torn and the floors have been patched in places.
