1974 Porsche 911 MFI Carrera Coupe ⢠VIN 9114600126 ⢠Engine No. 6640154 - Matching ⢠Transmission No. 341212 â Matching ⢠Certificate of Authenticity In 1974, Porsche followed up its legendary Carrera RS with the updated range-topping Carrera. Its debut coincided with the launch of the new G-series body for the 911, which included the 'short' hood, new impact-resistant front and rear bumpers, a non-reflective filler strip between the taillights, unobtrusive side rockers, and a front spoiler that improved high-speed stability. The 1974 Carreras features the rear duck-tail spoiler found on the 1973 Carrera RS and staggered (6 x 15 front and 7 x 15 rear) Fuchs forged alloy wheels. Carrera models featured wider fenders to accommodate larger Fuchs wheels, but their most important distinction was the impressive 210-horsepower 2.7-liter flat six-cylinder from the previous Carrera RS, with Bosch mechanical fuel injection. New smog and fuel-efficiency regulations at the time precluded these 2.7 MFI Carreras from being imported to the United States. Instead, US-spec Carrera 2.7 models were given the significantly less powerful 2.7-liter flat-six from the 911 S. Not only forbidden fruit in America, the Carrera 2.7 MFI was also a rarity in the rest of the world, with production limited to 1,026 total units for 1974. This rare 1974 Carrera MFI has been fully restored cosmetically and mechanically to concours perfection by nationally recognized professionals and is turn-key ready for its next owner. It underwent a bare metal restoration and was repainted in its original color of Grand Prix White by East Autobody in Orange, California. Porsche specialist Autobahn Interiors reupholstered the interior in a rare shade of Midnight Blue leatherette. The highest quality OEM parts were used in the restoration. Renowned engine builder Aase Motors in Fullerton, California, rebuilt the original engine (Type 911/83) to the factory specification of 2.7 RS in February of 2021 at the cost
