No other vehicle has ever been as influential and often imitated as the Carrera RS. The Carrera RS embodies the brand's identity to both lightweight performance and road-going refinement that would be carried on for the next 50 years.

The 911 Carrera RS is synonymous with Porsche's racing success in the early 1970s, particularly in endurance events like the Targa Florio and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The ''RS'' designation stands for ''Rennsport'' (racing sport), and the 1973 model was created to homologate Porsche's racing efforts. With only 1,580 Carrera RS Touring models produced, this car is an extremely rare find in any condition.

The Carrera RS retains the iconic ''ducktail'' rear spoiler which was designed to improve high-speed stability and aerodynamics but ended up contributing to the car's unmistakable iconic look. At the heart of the Carrera RS Touring is its 2.7-liter, flat-six engine run through Bosch Mechanical fuel injection delivering an exhilarating 210 horsepower. The engine's lightweight design and 5-speed manual transmission allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just over 5 secondsimpressive for its era.

Chassis #1537 was originally specified as an M472 model and was delivered new to Italy where it remained with its first owner for an impressive 32 years. In 2004, the Carrera RS was imported to the US, where it remained with the original owner until its sale to the second owner. The second owner, known as one of Southern California's most prominent car enthusiasts, added this prized Porsche to his collection which includes some of the finest and rarest automobiles ever built.
