The level of change here is not radical but refined, as if poured from a crucible that takes out all the impurities. This iconic model year has seen its share of builds over the past five decades, but the use of a modern driveline and suspension components clearly place it into the 21st century. The builder wisely left most of the styling rendered back in the day intact. Its instantly recognizable as a 69 Camaro, but what lies beneath is more telling.Under the cowl induction hood is a custom-fitted LT4 V-8 engine. A conical air intake feeds the supercharged powerplant, which fills the engine bay nicely. There is a smoothed firewall, modern aluminum radiator with electric fans, well-massaged inner fenders, custom billet hood hinges and even a finished master cylinder. Selected to go behind this is a 4-speed automatic transmission, and undercarriage changes include things like a Detroit Speed 4-link suspension layout and 4-wheel Baer disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors.The exterior truly shines, done in custom PPG silver paint and showcasing a monochromatic theme with the bumpers and spoilers also in body color. The RPO ZL2 hood was offered only for the most notable Camaros back in 1969, such as the Z28 and 427 CI COPO models, and this example will only add to that notoriety. Inside there are a set of wide bucket seats with custom leather covers, a center console that hosts the floor shift and an LCD screen, special gauges fitted into the dash cluster, and a custom-wrapped steering wheel. Power windows and locks, custom interior door handles, seat belts and chrome-edged pedals complete it. Outside, the doors and keyways are now remote, there are custom side mirrors, unique tail lamps and modern-design headlamps. The final touches are Intro billet wheels and Nitto Extreme low-profile radial tires.
