The B introduced new front and rear sheet-metal, though retained the curved front trunk lid and rounded fenders of the A series. The B also added features requested by American customers, such as raised front and rear bumpers with over-riders to better protect the body from parking incidents. The headlamps were also raised, a larger hood handle was added, and front vent windows appeared in the doors. A new steering wheel and column similarly refreshed the interior, along with redesigned rear seats. The 356 B also reflected Porsches continuing effort to improve the lines mechanical components, with stronger engine internals, transaxle, shifting linkage, and better brakes. Three engine outputs, the standard models 60hp, the Super with 75hp, and the Super 90 with 90hp, ensured buyers could specify their car with as much performance as desired. With such a light weight, even the standard car felt plenty brisk in comparison to regular sedans of the period. Nowadays, the higher-performance models are, of course, the most desirable, though all 356 B models are hugely entertaining to drive. Offered here is a desirable and luxurious numbers matching 1962 Porsche 356 B T6 1600 Super Cabriolet by Reutter. Presented in Ruby Red over Black with a matching folding top, this 356 was completed at Porsches Zuffenhausen-based factory on March 16th, 1962 according to its Kardex (factory build sheet). With 25% more horsepower over the normal model thanks to a Super motor, front disc brakes, and ventilated steel wheels, this Porsche offers the driving dynamics so beloved of these cars with a notable increase in performance. A Blaupunkt radio adds a touch of convenience, ensuring that this car's next caretaker has every reason to go for a spirited drive. Due to its exceptional condition, I personally believe the investment potential of this iconic Porsche will grow beyond your imagination. We proudly offer this stunning 356 to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the very best!
