While standard 356s made do with a pushrod Flat-4, the Carreras received a special four-cam motor designed for racing. By the late 1960s, the Carrera 2 was imported to San Fransisco by Seth Anderson, where it spent over 37 years before being sold to Check Lawson in Dallas in 2008.
