1961 Ford Galaxie Starliner X-Code
Why This Car Is Special
The Ford Star Liner was a fastback version of in Galaxie line of full-size Fords in 1960 and 1961. It utilized the high-level Galaxie trim, however the Galaxie name on the trunk lid was replaced by Starliner script.
We have a very special restored 1961 Ford Galaxie Starliner X-Code here at Skyway Classics that is an X-code car and was restored in 2021. It features a Tri-Power 390 cubic inch engine, automatic transmission, Chesapeake Blue metallic base coat/clear coat exterior paint with a Matte Chesapeake Blue undercarriage finish and Black semi-gloss frame.
The new Galaxies, especially in Starliner trim, screamed NASCAR and NHRA; after all, the early 1960s would mark the beginning of Fords Total Performance campaign, during which Ford would invest heavily in all forms of motorsport. The Starliner only lasted through 1961, with that model year showing minor but noticeable changes to the sheet metal and trim.
