LOAD CAPACITY 15-INCH VISION ALLOY WHEELS AM RADIO While most will remember the Chevrolet Corvair's coupe, convertible, and sedan variants, GM's aspirations for the model went far beyond those markets. Much like how Volkswagen used the Beetle as a platform for a full model lineup, GM also offered the first generation Corvair in station wagon, van, and pickup body styles. Introduced in 1961 after the Corvair's introduction in 1960, these additional variants drove sales and were intended to ingrain the Corvair and its rear-engine, rear wheel drive drivetrain into American buyer's hearts. For the vans and pickups, the Corvair was built with a 'cab-over' design to maximize cargo capacity with the vehicle's 95-inch wheelbase. Uniquely, the pickups could be ordered in 'Loadside' or 'Rampside' beds. The former was fairly traditional, with a tailgate only at the rear of the vehicle. The 'Rampside' featured the standard tailgate in addition to the ability for owners to lower a portion of the passenger-side bed to form a ramp, allowing for easy stowage of bikes or other equipment. Only built for a few short years, the Corvair pickups are a rare sight even amongst Corvair enthusiasts. The gorgeous 1961 Chevrolet Corvair 95 Rampside Pickup featured here is finished in eye-catching Royal Blue Metallic with Silver accents over a Black interior. This particular example was just released from a world-class collection after having been recently restored and refinished. Featuring numerous upgrades such as a custom contoured bench seat and a full bedliner in addition to its unique rampside design, this Corvair 95 is the perfect example to show, drive, and enjoy. This exceptional Chevrolet performs wonderfully and will complement any premier collection. We are proud to offer this stunning 1961 Corvair 95 to the most astute collector, investor, or enthusiast who appreciates this examples superb condition.
