*1959 Jaguar XK150 S OTS*The Jaguar XK series was one of the most influential in the rapidly growing landscape of post-war European sports cars. Starting with the beautiful and fast XK120, its design evolved over nearly a decade, culminating with the XK150. This 1959 Jaguar XK150 S is what is known as an OTS or Open Two-Seater, was produced as the most sporting version of the 150, and this example benefits from a comprehensive restoration carried out by the previous owner. The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate indicates that when this car came out of the factory in 1959, it was finished in Cream over a black interior with a black top. During the restoration, the color was changed to Silver Pearl over a stunning blue interior with a blue soft top. One of the key changes made on the XK150 was the addition of roll-up windows which make it a far more comfortable touring car than the XK120 and XK140 which were only fitted with side curtains. The chrome bumpers and trim have all been finished to a very high quality, and the wire wheels with center knockoffs are finished in chrome as well. In addition to roll up windows, the XK150 was also the first XK to be fitted with 4-wheel disc brakes which was cutting edge technology at the time that Jaguar had been perfecting in its endurance racing cars. The dark blue Connolly leather interior is paired with matching dark blue carpets throughout the interior. Sitting in the driver's seat, you are met with a 4-spoke steering wheel with a set of white on black Smiths gauges in the center of the dashboard. One of the features of the Open Two-Seater is the deletion of the two rear seats which gives you extra luggage space behind the seats, which is upholstered in a combination of carpet and vinyl.Powering the XK150 is a numbers matching 3.4-liter dual-overhead cam inline-6 with a trio of SU carburetors affixed to the side. In the standard XK150, this combination was good for about 190 horsepower, but the S received larger carburetors and a straight-port cylinder head which increased power to a reported 250. For the time this was a remarkable number, especially from a smooth inline-6 and helped propel the car to more than 130 mph at the top end. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual gearbox with an electronic overdrive system, which allows for easy highway cruising. The XK150 was the final model to use the design language introduced by the original XK120, and was succeeded by the legendary XKE in 1961. The XK150 S is the highest performing, most refined variant of the original XKs and even more than 60 years after it was produced, is an exciting and rewarding car to drive. This example presents extremely well and would be a great addition to any collection.*Key Features* * Restored in the 2010s * 3.4L DOHC Inline-6 With S Specification * Triple SU HD8 Carburetors * Straight Port Cylinder Heads * 250 Horsepower * 4-Speed Manual, Electronic Overdrive * 4-Wheel Disc Brakes * Stunning Sil
