For 1940, the car underwent a series of changes to keep it in line with buyer expectations. A much roomier cabin and a body shared with several of its GM stablemates along with improved interior amenities ensured the car remained relevant. Perhaps more importantly, Buick introduced an impressive new update for their long-running Inline-8 motor in 1941. Called compound carburetion, Buick's engineers essentially created a four-barrel carburetor with a pair of traditional dual-barrel carburetors. One ran continuously, while the other only operated at nearly full throttle. As a result, the car was more economic than before and offered 165hp - more than any other motor available in an American vehicle. All told, 15,372 Roadmasters were built in 1940-41. 1942 brought more updates, but the war effort brought production to a halt until 1946. For some time, 1941 Buicks have been one of the most collectible because of their remarkably modern driving experience, impressive performance, and timeless style. The 1941 Buick Series 71C Roadmaster Convertible Phaeton featured here is finished in stunning Ridge Green Metallic over a Green leather interior. This particular example presents in largely original condition, though the front seat bottom and convertible top have been replaced due to age-related wear. A plethora of factory features and options are fitted to optimize the lovely driving experience, including: an AM radio, heater/defroster, turn signals, and fender skirts. Because of its fantastic condition and rarity as one of only 312 built, we strongly believe this Buick will be a welcome addition to any premier collection. We are proud to offer this spectacular Roadmaster Convertible Phaeton to the most astute collector, investor, or enthusiast who appreciates this car's exceptional condition and historical value.
