Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas showroom is pleased to present this 1929 Buick Master Six Sedan. 1929 marked Buicks Silver Anniversary (25 years) in business. While Fords vehicles were primarily powered by 4-cylinder engines, the Silver Anniversary Buicks utilized 6-cylinder powerplants and typically offered larger interiors. Taken from 1929 Buick sales literature: ...Bodies that are masterpieces by Fisher. Color harmonies that keep their rich, lustrous charm for tens of thousands of miles -- smartness, distinction, luxury. But these are not all. In mechanical construction, too, Buick leads the world. Lightning-flash get-away and acceleration; power for the steepest hill; dependability; and a sturdiness that makes the last mile on the speedometer as wonderful as the first. These are the qualities that, combined with unrivaled beauty, make the Silver Anniversary Buick the greatest value that the world has ever seen. OK, so no one today would accuse a 1929 Buick as being quick off the line; but, back in 1929, these Buicks could shake a leg! Interestingly enough, while spare tires and bumpers were denoted as special equipment back then, overall, these Buicks were well-equipped for the time. More from the 1929 Buick sales brochure: New instrument panel; new steering wheel and controls; new tail lamp, mounted at side; front compartments completely trimmed, rubber mats for floor; hydraulic shock absorbers, front and rear; centralized chassis lubrication; adjustable steering wheel vibrator horn; hydrostatic gasoline gauge, water temperature gauge on instrument panel; lock mounted on steering post; combination tail lamp, stop lamp, and back-up lamp; four-wheel brakes; four low pressure tires; controllable beam headlights, with control switch on top of steering wheel; air cleaner; oil filter; gasoline strainer; crankcase ventilator; new type tire carrier for one tire only, with extra demountable rim; double screw type jack; high pressure grease gun; tool kit; pump; rear vision mirror; dual lighting of instrument panel and front compartment. Definitely a change in sales literature style from back then to now - youre probably not used to seeing oil filter or gasoline strainer mentioned as value-added items in todays sales lit! This 1929 Buick Master Six sedan looks like a twin to one of the models shown in Buicks 29 sales folder, done in a nice two-tone paint scheme, with its black top over a deep teal (think dark bluish green, or maybe greenish blue). It rides on original style wood spoke wheels, and tube-type tires. Inside, the brown cloth interior is in good shape, and makes for a nice, soft ride. This 1929 Buick Master Six is ready for its next owner and is a great foundation for restoration to its original glory. If restoration isnt in your plans, but you just want a fun, basic driver from the 1920s era, this is just the ticket.
